Experience 

General Management

As a seasoned General Manager with experience at Skillz,  Amazon Web Services, and Storm8, Vatsal has successfully scaled cross-functional teams of 250+ people and PnL of $400M+ USD across both consumer (B2C) and enterprise (B2B) businesses. He is adept at managing growth while running a “tight ship”, driving efficiencies across marketing, infrastructure spending and methodical investing in product development.  When the situation demanded, he has led the challenging but necessary work of rapidly reducing operating expenses. His expertise also includes designing processes to scale organizations from <50 to 250+, creating organizational values and leadership principles to instill customer obsession and high performance.

Product Development

Vatsal was a product leader at Meta, Storm8, and Microsoft. He built multiple products from scratch and the discipline of product management function at Storm8. He has launched over 20 mobile games, Oculus app store, and cloud services. He has grown products multiple times from 0 to $100M in revenues. His products have generated more than $2.5B+ in cumulative revenue and are used by 500M+ customers. Additionally, his enterprise cloud services have been used by some of the largest gaming customers, such as Ubisoft, EA, and Bethesda.

Growth

Vatsal had led data and growth functions at Storm8, Meta, and Skillz. He is an expert on how to optimize growth and revenue through data-driven approaches. He established data and growth functions at Storm8 and brough the data rigor and experimentation at Skillz. Through his career, he has overseen design and analysis of more than 200 A/B tests. Vatsal has nuances of testing and iterating on product loops to find product-market fit, using a combination of data, insights,  and long-term holdouts to guide nuanced decisions such as pricing new products and making big product changes. His work has driven double-digit % increases in revenue through international expansion, pricing, customer funnels (first-time customer experience, conversion, notifications, events etc) and content recommendation systems.

Vision, Strategy and Go-to-Market

Vatsal set 3-year product vision and roadmap multiple times, including for his 250+ teams at Amazon Web Services and Skillz. He has experience in crafting product vision and go-to-market for  both consumer platforms (B2C) and enterprise platforms (B2B). At Oculus, he led the product and launched the Oculus app store, which grew from 50 to 1000+ apps, and generated over $1B+ in sales. He has also adept at partnering with sales and outbound marketing to execute on product-led growth for enterprise companies. and executing go-to-market and growth strategies for driving platform growth.

People Leadership

Vatsal has led over 1000 people during his career and conducted over 300 interviews for various roles, including engineering, product management, data science, business development, and product marketing. Additionally, he has  hired and mentored over 20 product and engineering leaders, as well as managers of managers. In my role as a leader, he prioritizes setting clear and achievable goals for my team members to support their growth and development. Furthermore, he is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, and have actively sponsored and participated in various initiatives to promote DEI in the organization.
